Altenew Build-A-Flower: Tree Peony Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

In today’s post, I’ve got two fairly simple cards showing you you can create elegant and fun cards with minimal effort. Both cards feature the new Build-a-flower: Tree Peony and this is a lovely big bloom with delicate and whimsical petals. Now, Altenew Build-a-flowers usually contain 3 layers along with the outline layer. Well for the first card, I only use one layer of the stamp to create a striking delicate flora. For the second card, I don’t even use the floral, and instead, just focus on the flowering branch. So let’s get started!

You should have arrived here from the fantastic Nathalie DeSousa. You can always start at the beginning of the hop over at the Altenew Card Blog here.

Make sure you check out the end of the post for more details on the hop, along with your next stop!

Build-a-flower: Tree Peony

Build-a-flower: Tree Peony: card 1

Stamp the outline of the Build-a-flower: Tree Peony in embossing ink onto white cardstock. Cover this with gold embossing powder and a heat set. Next, stamp the third layer of the stamp in Coral berry ink from the Red Cosmos mini ink cube set. Use the coordinating die to cut out the image.

Next, add strips of Delicate Polka Dots Washi Tape onto a white card base. Using the Branches & berries die set, die-cut out the branches from kraft card stock and add these two the card clustered over the washi tape.

Foam mount the floral on top of the branches and finished with a heat embossed sentiment strip using a sentiment from the stamp set. Lastly, embellish with a few clear drops.

Build-a-flower: Tree Peony: card 2

This card uses just the floral branch from the Build-a-flower: Tree Peony . Heat emboss this branch onto Pink cardstock repeatedly in embossing ink. Cover with gold embossing and heat set.

Build-a-flower: Tree Peony

Use the coordinating dies to cut out the branches and add foam pads to the back of the die-cut. Adhere these to a soft pink card base and trim at an angle adding this to a white cardbase.

Add a strip of black card to the edge to smooth out the finish and lastly add a stamped sentiment in black ink.
