I really enjoyed creating a card last week with a lovely soft colour palette and wanted to continue along that theme for this week. Today I’m creating tone-on-tone for contemporary elegance with a beautiful 3D embossing folder. This can easily be achieved with regular embossing folders, so don’t be put off giving this a try. So let’s get started!

Open the Altenew Craft Your Life Kit Garden Rose 3D embossing folder and apply Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide to the side of the embossing folder with raised flat areas that will deboss into the cardstock.

Next place a piece of Hero Hues Peony cardstock in the folder and close this shut. Run the folder through your die-cutting machine – refer to your machine on the plates required for embossing folders. Remove to see if the ink has transferred into the debossed areas of the cardstock. Add a touch of sparkle by splattering metallic watercolour using the Altenew Metallic Watercolour set and allow this to dry before adhering to a cardbase.
For the sentiment, add Double-sided adhesive sheet to the back of some Brushed Rose cardstock, and die-cut a sentiment using the Yana’s Layered Script sentiments die set. Die-cut a couple to extra times to add dimension, and once layered together adhere to the front. Lastly, finish with a small sentiment using the Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate set with Blush Hot Foil.

If you want a very slightly less subtle look, then repeat the process but swap out Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide with Spun Sugar distress oxide and use white cardstock.

With lighter cardstock, the metallic paint splatter will show up more. Again finished with a layered sentiment using the Brushed Rose cardstock and a smaller sentiment.
You can also add a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish the card.
