There is one simple way to add drama to your cards with ink blending. It is such an easy technique but can really add a lot to your cards. Here I’m using the newly release Altenew Paint-a-flower: Coral Sunset stamp and created two cards with this fun technique. To add more richness to these cards I combined it with some gold metallic adding a touch of elegance, so let’s get started!

Add drama to your cards with ink blending: heat embossed
For this first card, use an ink blending tool along with a dark teal ink colour to blend onto a soft blue card panel. Blend ink around the card, fading in towards the middle for a soft highlight effect.

Next, add a darker blue – navy ink, and blend onto edge of the card fading into the dark teal. Allow the panel to dry before moving onto the heat embossing.
Position the Altenew Paint-a-flower: Coral Sunset stamp over one corner and stamp this in embossing ink. Next, cover this in Metallic Gold embossing powder and heat set. Repeat for the opposite corner, changing the position of the floral.

To finish this card, heat emboss a sentiment Altenew Paint-a-flower: Coral Sunset stamp in white embossing powder onto black card. Foam mount the sentiment onto the card and embellish with clear sequins.
Add drama to your cards with ink blending: mica powder
This card also uses ink blending but instead, starts off with a darker shade of blue. Using a coloured card panel to start rather than white, ensures you don’t use too much of your ink up.

Ink blend navy and the a black ink to the edge on the card, as with the previous card. Next, repeatedly stamp the Altenew Paint-a-flower: Coral Sunset stamp in embossing ink. The embossing powder I used is superfine and has dust, just like mica powder or perfect pearls.
This powder can stick to the embossing ink and create a beautiful soft image on your card panel. Remove any excess powder with a clean dry cloth. To add more detail to the card, add some paint splatter using the Altenew Metallic 14 pan Watercolour set.

Lastly, add another heat embossed sentiment to the card panel. This card does not need any embellishment with the shine from the paint splatter.
