How to add flock to your cards! 1 easy technique

I recently got some of the WOW! Flock and wanted to try it out. I was drawn to the Lemon Yellow Flock and thought, why not create using the Pantone colours of the year: yellow and grey! As it is an unusual colour combo for me, I though it would look quite good with a geometric pattern and thought the Triangle Cover Plate die from Catherine Pooler Designs was perfect for this! The flock adds such a fun texture to your cards, but does not add any bulk – perfecting for posting. So let’s get started!

How to add flock to your cards!

How to add flock to your cards: card 1

Start off by adding Altenew Double-sided adhesive sheet to both sides of a white card panel. Next, run this through your die-cutting machine with the Catherine Pooler Triangle Cover Plate die.

Remove the front sheet of the adhesive backing sheet, and cover with Lemon Yellow flock – I would advised placing this over a scrap piece of paper to catch the excess flock. Next, use your fingers to push the flock into the adhesive.

Wipe of the excess flock and funnel back into your pot. Next, gently heat the flock to ensure it stays put. Remove the other side of the backing sheet on the die-cut and add this to a Gina K Soft Stone card panel.

To finish this card off, add a white di-cut Deco Thanks from Catherine Pooler designs, inlaying the white letters back into the outline and then add black letters on top from another die-cut. Lastly, add a few Primary Ebony Nuvo Drops to embellish the cards.

When I finished, I had a lot of little adhesive triangles left from the negative spaces of the die-cut. I used these to create another geometric background.

Add a selection of the triangles onto a soft stone card panel in a diagonal motion across the card panel. Remove the backing sheet and cover with the Lemon Yellow flock, once more gently heat setting to secure it.

Add just the black outline die-cut of the Deco Thanks die to the bottom of the card – this just pops against the yellow and grey colour combo! To add a little more interest, use the Primary Ebony Nuvo Drops to the card, scattering these around the triangles.
