Today’s release from Altenew is a bumper one with so many beautiful products. I love to watercolour and it is one thing I try and practice a lot to improve. So when I saw the Exotic blooms watercolour pad, I knew it was time to practice so no-line watercolouring. I created a beautiful soft and elegant card with this, along with another one featuring some beautiful new ink colours. So let’s get started and delve right into the release.

No-line watercolouring: blue rose
For this card, I used the new Exotic Blooms watercolouring and went for the light grey outline of these roses for a no-line watercolouring look.
To colour these in, I used Altenew Artist Watercolour set along with Altenew Detailed watercolour brushes to colour to roses in. Start off by adding an initial light layer of colour, allowing this to dry before adding more concentrated paint towards the base of the petals to create depth and dimension.
Once the flowers and leaves were coloured in, this was trimmed down and added a green card base. In addition, a black die-cut hello was added which comes from the Primrose Craft-a-flower.
Florals bursting off the page!
For this card, I’ve created an A7 card with lots of layers of flowers. Stamp the Stunning Starflowers stamp in yellow and red inks, and use the coordinating die to cut these out. For the leaves, I used watercolour markers to colour some watercolour paper. The colours used were Evening Gray from the Spring Garden set and Lava Rock from the Tropical Fiesta set.
Once the watercolour paper is dry, use the leave dies that come with the Stunning Starflower dies to die-cut and create multiple leaves. Layer up the flowers and leaves onto a white card panel, and use foam pads to add dimension.
For the sentiment, die-cut Happy birthday using the All About Wishes die set. Layer these up and add embossing ink to the lower halves. Cover this with gold embossing powder and heat set.
Add the sentiment to the front and lastly embellish with gold sequins.
Simple emboss resist for luxurious cards!
To create this card, heat emboss the Illusion Diamonds stamp onto Seaglass cardstock. With an ink blending tool, apply Green Onyx ink from the new Jewel Tones ink set from the bottom and fade out 2 thirds of the way up the card panel. The embossing will resist the ink.
Next, apply Tanzanite ink from the Jewel Tones ink set to the lower third and fade this out. This will create a subtle soft ombre. Stamp a sentiment from the Illusion Diamonds stamp set and trim this down.
Layer the sentiment onto a piece of blue card stock and foam mount onto the front. Lastly, embellish with turquoise sequins to finish the card.
Creating with the new inks!
For this card, I created a soft ink blended background using the new Frozen Delights ink set. These inks can create a beautiful soft pastel rainbow and it is just stunning.
To add more interest, splatter Antique Gold ink spray and add this panel to a white card base. Add a heat embossed sentiment from the Illusion Diamonds stamp set and embellish with Essential enamel dots.
This second card uses the Jewel Tones ink to create a gradient background. Use the inks to stamp the Illusion Diamonds stamp set in rainbow order.
Trim the panel down and add to a white cardbase. For the sentiment, heat emboss a sentiment from the stamp in gold and add to the front.
