One way I like to make a cohesive card is to create a background with the other stamps within the stamp set. Today I’m showing you how with the new Altenew Build-a-flower Laelia stamp & die set. As soon as I saw the stamp set, I knew the leaves from the stamp set would make for a perfect background for the floral to sit on creating a cohesive background with small stamps. Pair that with light ink colour and you’re off to a great start for making a cohesive background.

cohesive background with small stamps: creating a soft background
Start off by stamping the bold leaf stamps from the Altenew Build-a-flower Laelia stamp & die set in Mint To Be ink repeatedly over a white card panel. Make sure you changed the orientation of the stamp up for added variation.
To stamp the main flower, I find it easier to first die-cut the flower shape out of card before stamping the outline layer. When you have a thin stem like this one, you can sometimes place the stamp down and have the stem out of whack of the fie shape when you come to cut it. If you cut first, you can then align the stamp up correctly onto the die-cut.

The image was then foam mounted onto the card front before adding a heat embossed sentiment. Lastly, the card was embellished with a few iridescent sequins.
