Now I like to stretch my stash and find more ways to use them so they have more value and use. Today, I’m showing you have you can use your Glimmer Hot Foil machine without foil plates. Instead, we’re going to add subtle foil detail with coordinating dies. This card features the love Big Blossoms stamp and die set, with the coordinating dies allowing you to add more flower line details to your cards.

how to Add subtle foil detail with coordinating dies
Start off by placing the coordinating Big Blossoms flower dies onto your glimmer hot foil machine with the cutting side facing upwards and heat the platform up. Next, cover with foil (pretty side down) and card before running this through your die-cutting machine.

For this card I used Fuchsia Flower Hot Foil which you can get in the Spellbound foil variety pack. Next, stamp some of the Big Blossoms flower outline stamps over the top of the foiled design in embossing ink. Cover this with gold heat embossing and heat set. You must foil first and then heat emboss, If you do this the other way around your embossing powder will melt and ruin.

Adding a colour fade
You can ink blend over the top of foil as well as the heat embossing. Using blending brushes, create a gradual fade of purple ink with the following colours: Sixteen Candles, Pixie Dust and Grape Crush.

Stamp a sentiment from the Big Blossoms stamp set in Grape Crush and trim the panel down foam mounting onto a card base. Lastly, finish off by embellishing with moonstone drops.
