Hello, I’m so excited to be taking part on the WOW! & Whimsy stamps blog hop where both teams have come together with plenty of inspiration. Both companies have fabulous products to create with and it wasn’t hard making these two cards. As soon as I saw the Layered Peruvian Lily I knew I had to create with this. Whats’more I wanted to pair it with a more modern style stencil and though the brick stencil was perfect for this!

The blog hop starts right now and will run until the 5th of April. As we have so many talented designers wanting to play along we decided to celebrate by split the blog hop up over two days. The Winners will be chosen at random in the week of the 8th of April from the comments left on THE POSTS.

PRODUCED AS PART OF MY DESIGN-TEAM WORK FOR WOW! Embossing powder - SEE END OF POST FOR MORE DETAILS
Creating a more traditional card
For the first card, I went for a very soft look, keeping the card white and using the Brick Pattern stencil along with a blending brush to apply Twilight ink from Catherine Pooler Designs over the top. This was applied to one corner with the ink fading out towards the edges.

For the Lilies, I stamped the base layer in Rose Petals Ink from Catherine Pooler Designs and then the second detailed layer in Party Dress ink. Now, you may find it easy to align the layers up using your MISTI stamping platform. For the outline layer, these were stamped in WOW! Clear Ultra Slow drying embossing ink.

Next, the Lillies were then covered in Berry Burst Embossing Powder. This has a mixture of colours in the powder and adds such interest to the outline stamping of the flowers.
The leaves were stamped in a combination of green colours: Eucalyptus and Green Tea ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. All the leaves and flowers were fussy cut-out, ready to add to the card.

The flowers and leaves were add to the from the of the card, in one corner, with varying dimensions of foam pads for added depth. A ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment was heat embossed in Opaque Bright white embossing powder onto a strip of black card and adhere to the front of the panel.
Lastly, a few White Gloss Nuvo Drops were added to finish this card off.
Varying the colour combination
This card came together in a very similar manner, however, simply changing up the colour scheme can really change the card.
To start off white, I applied white embossing paste through the Brick Pattern stencil onto Powder Blue cardstock from Gina K Designs. This was put to one side to dry whilst create the Lillies.

This time the Lillies were stamped in Polish and Samba Catherine Pooler Design inks.
For the outline layers of the Lillies, again these were stamped in WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying embossing, but this still they were covered in either Lavaburst or Sunburst embossing powders. The Sunburst embossing powder has a lovely yellow and orange mix to it, making these really pop out on the card.

The leaves were stamped in Garden Party and Eucalyptus Catherine Pooler Design inks and the Lillies and leaves were fussy cut-outs. Once the embossing paste was dry, the stamped and embossed images were again foam mounted onto the card with varying dimension for added interest.
Again, a white heat embossed sentiment was add to the front and the card was finished off once more with White Gloss Nuvo Drops.

These look great. It’s funny…. I rarely see people use Catherine Pooler ink and now, on this hop and the Save a Crafty Youtuber hop, I’ve seen several people use it. I only have three pads and rarely use it myself but I do get good coverage and the colors look great. I like the pairing of the Lily and brick. They look lovely together.
the detail of the embossing really make the flowers pop
