If you love floral stamps but aren’t great at colouring them in or feel intimidated by them, then this technique might be just for you! Instead of colouring the image in, overlay the stamped designed onto a simple painted background with re-inkers! It adds a pop of colour, creates a modern style card and you still see the beautiful floral design as the main focal element. What’s more is a very quick card to make, so perfect for bulk making – just switch up the colours for a little variety!

Creating the simple ink painted background with re-inkers
Start by adding a few small drops of 5 colours to either a glass matt or another non-porous surface using your reinkers. For this card, the colours I’ve used are Shea Butter, Mint To Be, Stone Blue, Sugared Lavender and Coral Cobana.
With a paintbrush, one that you’re not fussed about, add stripes of each colour to a white card panel. Make sure you clean your brush in between colours so you don’t taint the next colour. Allow this panel to dry before moving onto the next step.
Add the focal element
Stamp the Catherine Pooler Beautiful Day Floral stamp onto the card panel and cover WOW! Metallic Platinum Embossing powder before heat setting. In addition, heat emboss in white onto the black card a sentiment from the stamp set.
Foam mount the sentiment onto the front of the card and finish the card off with a few Cotton Candy Glossie from Julie Hickey Designs.
