This month’s Altenew Paint-a-flower: Himalayan Poppy release is a bumper one as not only is there a new paint a flower, Altenew has also released two fabulous new colouring mediums as well. There is a stunning collection of Woodless Coloring pencils which I had fun creating a no-line colouring rose. In addition, there are some bright and happy colours in the new Himalayan Brush & Fine tip pens. So let’s get started.

Hawiian Brush & Fine Tip pens
Stamp the Altenew Paint-a-flower Himalayan Poppy stamp in black ink – make sure it works with water-based markers. For this flower, I used two blue pens from the Hawain Brush & Fine Tip pens: Persian Blue and Turquoise.
Start off with the darkest shade towards the base of the petal and in the creases and blend this out to the lighter shade. Repeat this process using the two greens from the set: Firefly and Just Green to colour the leaves.
The card panel was trimmed down and added to a white card base. To finish the card off, add a heat embossed sentiment and embellish with Glacier Caves Enamel dots.
Woodless coloring pencils
For this card, I stamped the rose from the Garden Rose Craft Your Life Project Kit in embossing ink onto Strathmore Toned Grey paper. For the blue in the flower, I used the following colours: Teal, Galactic Stream and Dew Drops along with white for highlights.
To colour the leaves, i used Limeade, Grass Field and Shadow Creek. After the images were coloured I fussy cut these out. Before foam mounting the flower onto a card panel, I used Jet Black Ink spray to add some splatter.
The card panel was foam mounted onto a card base and a heat embossed sentiment was added before embellish with sequins.
