Monochromatic scheme with stamp layering

Hello, I hope you are all doing well! I have some great news today, I have been accepted onto the Altenew educator certification programme. This is where I hope to learn many more new skills, and hone those that I already and when I eventually pass, I would also be able to teach Altenew classes in my local area. I am a big fan of Altenew, I love their style and enjoying seeing all the creations made with their products. So today’s card features products from Altenew. I create a monochromatic scheme with stamp layering, producing a thinking of you card for my stash. It is better to have a card like this ready in your stash for when you need it, rather than to wait until you need one as you will find it harding creating a sombre card when you are sombre yourself.

To start, position your card panel in a stamping platform and lay the bottom layer of the floral cluster down onto the card. This floral cluster is from the Ditsy Print stamp set from Altenew.

You could do this with just an acrylic block, I just found it quicker with a stamping platform. Ink up the stamp with the lightest colour, and once stamped, layer up the second layer. Using a slightly darker colour, stamp the first colour twice for a darker layer. Repeat, darkening the ink colour until you have stamped all the layers in the floral cluster.

Next, take the outline image which includes the leaves and position over your floral cluster and stamp in black ink. For this monochromatic scheme, I left the leaves plain white, which gives a lovely contrast against the black and blue ink. Repeat this several times, stamping around the edge of the panel and an extra cluster on a spare sheet of card. Leave an area in the middle white.

Fussy cut out the floral cluster on the spare card, and die cut the fine frames rectangle from white card. Foam mount these onto the front of the card. To finish the card, heat emboss the sentiments onto black card and foam mount onto the card. Add a few matt silver sequins to embellish the card.

Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
