The weather here is starting to turn here so I’m reaching towards warmer tones, especially with ink blending. This post is packed full of inspiration using the new Altenew Adventures Ahead release and I had a blast creating with the Sisters of the Heart stamp, die, and coloring stencil whilst ink blending with warm tones. So let’s get started!

Ink blending with warm tones
Trim a piece of Altenew Making paper to an A2 card panel and die-cut a square window from this. Position the masking paper over the panel and using an ink blending tool, blend Altenew Fresh Lemon ink down into Altenew Coral Berry ink.
Before removing the masking paper, add some paint splatter using the Altenew Metallic 14 pan watercolor set. For the focal element, stamp the floral from the Sisters of the Heart stamp onto white card. Start applying the layering colouring stencil over the image and colour using the Altenew Ink blending tools. The back of the packaging shows you the layering guide using the stencil.
For the leaves ink blend Lime and Fresh Leaf for the two layers. All for layers of the flower using the colors from the Red Cosmos ink set. After the coloring is complete, use the coordinating die to cut the image out. Foam mount the background panel onto a card base along with the stamped image. Lastly, stamp a sentiment from the Inky Bouquet to finish the card off.
CAS card with washi tape
If you’re unsure what to do with your washi tape, then why not use it to create a CAS card.
Add strips of the Lapis Lazuli Washi Tape to a card panel, a quarter of an inch spaced apart. Next, stamp in black ink the Altenew Anywhere with you stamp.
Next, trim the panel down and foam mount onto a white card base. Lastly, add a few white Nuvo drops to embellish the card.
Flawless blending with colouring stencils
The colouring stencils are perfect for flawless blending so it looks like the image has been printed – giving it a professional finish. Stamp the bouquet from the Inky Bouquet stamp set in black ink. Next, use the corresponding colouring stencil to ink blend the image in.
Again, this card uses the same colour of inks as the first card and used the coordinating die to cut the image out. For the background dry emboss white card with the 3D Diamond Stars embossing folder.
Stamp and heat emboss a sentiment from the stamp set onto black card in white and fussy cut-out. Add the stamped image to the front and foam mount the sentiment over the top. To finish the card off, embellish with a few sequins scattered around the card.
Subtle shading with grey pencil
The 3D Whimsical Bouquet embossing folder is such a beautiful design. Dry embossing this onto a white card panel, offset to one side. To add more definition, us a soft lead grey pencil and add soft subtle shading.
Ensure you use a soft pencil (5B/6B) as this will allow you to blend the pencil out with a cotton bud or a pencil blending tool. Once the shading is complete, trim the panel down and add to a white card base.
I kept this card simple by heat embossing a sentiment from the Inky Bouquet stamp set onto black card and fussy cutting this out. This was foam mounted onto the front of the card to finish it off.

Wow Verity! These are so gorgeous, one after the next! I was in love right from the beginning with that beautiful ink blended square behind that pretty flower….the yellow really helps it stand out!
