If you love to get coordinating dies with your stamp sets, but struggle to use them without the stamps then you’re in luck. Here I’ve created two fun cards with two different looks using the new Pitter Patter Dies from the Catherine Pooler April Showers Bring release.
I haven’t use the dies with the coordinating stamps and I don’t think you would have known there was a coordinating stamp set. Learning to stretch your stash like this is a great to increase the value for money of your craft supplies. So let’s get started!

Creating with Coordinating dies: mimicking the desgin of the dies/stamps
For this card, add clear clear water to watercolour cardstock with a flat brush. Next, start to drop in colours of ink. This card uses:
Allow the colours to mix and blend naturally and leave to dry
After the panel is dry, use the Catherine Pooler Designs Pitter Patter Dies to cut out varying sizes of rain drops. Next, add these to a cardbase with foam pads to add dimension.
With embossing ink, stamp a sentiment from the Pitter Patter Stamp set onto black card and cover with WOW! Opaque Bright White super fine embossing powder. Heat set this and foam mount onto the front of the card.
Lastly, a selection of Tonic Studios Nuvo drops in to embellish the card around the rain drops.
Creating with Coordinating dies: creating an abstract design
This second card is quite different from the first card although created in a similar manner. Again, add clean water to some watercolour cardstock. This time I dropped in colours using:
Once the panel is dry, use the Pitter Patter Dies to cut out some raindrops. Before we use these, add a piece of pattern paper from the new A Little Drizzle slimline pattern paper pack. This bold black and white creates a modern card.
In addition, layer this onto a white card base with a thin strip of card coloured with Samba ink. Next, add the die-cut raindrops to the card with foam pads, but arrange them into a flower formation using the raindrops as petals.
Finish the card off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Patter Stamp set . In addition, add Buttermilk Nuvo Drops to the middle of the flower and scattering around the card.
