Chunk Monkey Crafts: Icicle Sequin Mix

Hello, hope you have had a good weekend so far! I have create a lovely bright clean and simple card which was then finished off with a beautiful icicle sequin mix from Chunky Monkey Crafts. What I love about this sequin mix is that it contains a variety of shapes, sizes and colours of sequins – perfecting for variation!

Icicle Sequin Mix Card details

To start off, I ink blended with a soft bristle brush in peacock feathers distress oxide in the lower right corner of the card. It is best to start of as lightly as you can to prevent harsh lines, you can easily build up the colour and intensity with layers. For added texture, I splattered a few drops of water, allowed this to set for around 30 seconds and soaked it up with a paper towel.

I die cut several different size circle frames and layered them on top of one another for interest.  These were foam mounted onto the card panel with foam squares. The sentiment was die cut  several times out of white card and layered for dimension. This was adhered with glue onto the layered circles. To finish the sentiment, secondary sentiment was stamped in matching ink and positioned underneath.

Once the whole panel is matted onto a card base, it is time to embellish with icicle sequin mix. I choose to position my sequins in three positions on the card. Two around the sentiment and one cluster up in the top left corner. It is more aesthetically pleasing if you vary the size of the sequins in a cluster and their position. This sequin mix is perfect for this as it contains sequins of several different sizes. Adhere these down with glue and allow to dry to ensure the sequins stay put.

I finished this card off with a sentiment from the ‘Narky Sentiments’ stamp set – ‘Shop Handmade’. These are a fabulous set to help finish your cards and envelopes off!
