2nd Birthday Card – Silhouette Cameo

Hey there! Hope you are having a great day, and you must be if you found time to pop by for today’s post! I am bringing you another numbered birthday card that you can create with your Silhouette Cameo. This 2nd Birthday card comes with lots of dimension and some added fun with the balloons.

And what’s more, I have included the Silhouette Cut file at the end of the post for free (personal use only)! So if you are ready, lets get started.

Materials required for 2nd Birthday card:

  • Silhouette Studio
  • Silhouette Cameo and mat (no piece is cut from larger than an A4 sheet, so will work just as well on a Silhouette Portrait)
  • A variety of colour card-stock.
  • Alphabet stamps and ink – or you can hand write the sentiment on.
  • Double sided adhesive
  • Foam tape

2nd Birthday Card details

To create the number 2 shape, I used a variety of standard shapes in the software and welded or subtracted these until I ended up with a 2! However, you don’t need to worry as this is all made and included in the cut file! So just sit back, press cut and assemble!

Once all the pieces were cut out I used double sided adhesive to stick down on the base layers. To line up the dots, overlay the negative cut out and stick the dots down through this. However, if they aren’t quite in the right spot, nobody will know right?!

To give dimension to the card, several balloons were foam mounted and overlapped to give the illusion they are in front. In addition, the little bear or monkey(whatever you prefer to call it) was also foam mounted onto the card.

To finish the 2nd birthday card off:

To add a touch of fun to the card, I tied bakers twine round the end of each balloon. I then adhered the ends of the twine down behind the bears hand to make it look like he was holding this colourful bunch.  Each balloon was stamped with one letter of happy, and I finished the sentiment with a little flag tail banner for ‘birthday’

Do you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
