Hello there, so excited for today’s post! Near the end of the last year, I was contacted by a member of the WOW design team asking if I would like to work on the design team. Of course, I said yes, and made sure I got my application in when the call came out.I’m sharing my first project as part of the design team for WOW! Embossing Powders and it is my inspiration for the WOW! Facebook Challenge for January.
WOW! Embossing Powder have a Facebook group called ‘WOW Embossing Powder Fans’ and every month there is a new challenge based on a theme. The Design Team each create a project around the theme to provide inspiration to all the lovely fans in the group. If you are the lucky winner you get a £15/$15 gift voucher for use in the UK or US sites depending on where you live. I would highly recommend entering, I have won it twice in the past!!
This months theme was Aqua/Teals and Turquoise which are beautiful colours, but not necessarily ones I used when I emboss. However, I loved the challenge and the outcome. So why not give it ago as well!
WOW! Facebook Challenge Process overview
Start off by stamping in WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad the Altenew Pinstripe background stamp onto a white card panel, leaving the top third blank. Cover this with WOW! Primary Bluetiful and heat set.
Next stamp and heat emboss several of the florals from Altenew Floral Vine in Primary Blue Topaz and Metallic Silver and cut out using the coordinating dies. Using the silver powder, also stamp and emboss a small sentiment from the Floral Vine stamp set – I decided to create a ‘Feel better soon’ card.
As I didn’t have any colour corresponding cardstock, I used the ink to direct paper technique and swiped my Catherine Pooler Ink pad in ‘All that Jazz’ colour over the sentiment strip. The embossed sentiment will resist the ink, and you can buff off any extra ink with a paper towel.
Adhere the sentiment strip above the pinstripe panel and foam mount the card panel onto a white card base. Adhere the florals using double-sided tape and foam pads for dimension. Lastly, finish the card off with a selection of teal and silver sequins.

I just love how this card turned out. Doesn’t silver go lovely with an aqua/teal and turquoise colour scheme – will defiantly use this in the future. Feel free to leave me a comment below, I would love to hear what you think of the card!

*this post was produced as part of my design team work for WOW! Embossing Powder. I have not been paid to make this post, but I am given supplies from WOW! Embossing Powder to use. However, I only create projects I am proud of and use the products that I love. The information provided is based on my own personal experience – I am not an expert.
