Alcohol inks are a beautiful medium to work with. They create vivid bright designs whether you create a background or use it for more focal images. Today I’m showing how to use alcohol inks with foiled designs using the fabulous WOW! Fab Foilers Sweet Sentiments set. Whether you keep it simple with just a few sentiments or add a vellum overlay, this technique will blow you away!

Start off with a piece of Yupo Paper – no need to trim this down to a card size until we have added the ink. Add some blending solution over the top and start adding in colour with alcohol inks.

Allow the panel to dry, but just before the whole panel is dry we need to add some foil design. Where the alcohol ink pools it will take longer to dry and this will appear tacky. Cover this with WOW! Gold Fab Foil to transfer the foil and create metallic veins in the background.

To finish the card, foil a sheet of sentiments from the WOW! Fab Foiler Sweet Sentiments set in WOW! Gold Fab Foil. Trim these down and add them to the card front along with some gold matte sequins.

Create the background panel by foiling with WOW! Gold Fab Foil one of the background panels from the WOW! Fab Foiler Sweet Sentiments set. Trim the vellum panel down and hide small amounts of double-sided adhesive tape behind dark areas of alcohol ink.
