Tonic Nuvo Mousse Smudge Cards

Hey, I hope you are having a great week and it’s so good to see you have popped by the blog today! I have got three fantastic cards for your today; they’re very easy to create but have a lovely artistic feel to them. The possibilities are endless – different colours, sentiments and images to embellish with so you can make the extras as easy or difficult as you wish. What I love the most with Tonic Nuvo Mousse is the versatility, it has so many different uses and can create great textures for cards.  With 5 colours I created 2 Tonic Nuvo Mousse Smudge cards. So, read on to find out how easy it is to make this cards.

Cheers - Tonic Nuvo Mousse smudge card

Select your colours of Nuvo Mousse; I used three colours for two cards, and another 2 colours for the other card. Using a palette knife, take a small amount of mousse on the end and smudge down, dragging this across a card panel. As I wasn’t’ adding moisture to the mousse, I used a fairly lightweight white cardstock for the panel.

Play around with the position of your smudges and orientation. For this first card, I gradually moved up the start of the smudge with each new colour. Allow the panel to dry before foam mounting on to a card base. To finish this card off, I used a ‘Cheers’ die cut sentiment from white cardstock along with a foam mounted embossed secondary sentiment. To embellish I used liquid mercury Tonic Nuvo Drops.

Hello There - Tonic Nuvo Mousse Smudge card

For this card, I used two colours of mousse and smudge it horizontally. I didn’t want equal portions of the colours so I went for 1 third bronze and 2 thirds mother of pearl. Whilst this was drying, I embossed a flower from Mama Elephant in white embossing powder on vellum. I fussy cut this out and applied small drops of glue behind the embossing to adhere to the card panel.

This card was finished with a foam mounted embossed sentiment and a few small rose gold sequins.

Hello friend - Tonic Nuvo Mousse Smudge card

For a bolder background, I added more of the mousse to the card. I used a die cut sentiment from Lawn fawn and adhere this down with glue. To finnish, I used an embossed sentiment and foam mounted onto the card along with a few iridescent sequins.

Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
