Switching up your stamps to create Christmas cards

One way to get more from your stamps is to use them for different occasions. I want to show you how switching your stamps up you can easily create new and different Christmas cards. This card used the Hero Arts Eucalyptus Bold Print stamp for the background, but pair it with a Christmas colour scheme and you can trick the brain. So let’s get started!!

switching your stamps up : creating the background

First off all, place a piece of pale green card panel into your MISTI stamping platform after you have removed the foam pad. Next, position the Hero Arts Eucalyptus Bold Print over the panel and pick this up with your MISTI.

Ink this up and stamp it ina clear embossing ink. For the first nod to Christmas, cover this in WOW! Metallic gold rich embossing powder and heat set.

After heat setting, use an Altenew Ink Blending brush to blend Catherine Pooler Spruce and then add Deck The Halls as welll. To intensify this, add a Black Jack to the edge. Once finished, buff the embossing with a dry cloth to bring back the shine.

switching your stamps up: making 2 cards with 1 panel!

We are going to get a 2-for-1 with this card panel. Using your trimmer, cut the panel on a diagonal. Next, add foam pads the the back and add these to two white card bases.

As we now have both green and cold colours, we can add one more to help cement the Christmas theme. For the sentiment, die-cut a Christmas sentiment from Gina K Red Cherry Cardstock.

For these cards, die-cut the sentiment several times to layer up with liquid adhesive to add dimension. Add these onto the front of the card, mimicking the angle of the diagonal. Either stamp or heat emboss secondary sentiments using the Altenew Happy Holiday stamp set.  To re-enforce the gold on the card, add a few gold sequins to embellish the cards.
