Of course, Christmas is coming up in a few months, and if you like to make your Christmas cards then you need to start making them if you haven’t already. Today’s card is such a sweet clean and simple holiday card with plenty of nod to the Christmas theme but it’s not in your face Christmas theme either. I love to try and make more modern Christmas cards to suit my style and sometimes creating Clean and Simple cards is the best way with such a theme. A little heating embossing adds such a glam look to a delicious Sweet Holiday Season card!

Creating the perfect candy canes
To start off, stamp the base layer of the candy cane from the Altenew Sweet Seasons Stamp set in Rockin’ Red ink by Catherine Pooler Designs- I wanted my candy cane to have thin stripes of red with thick stripes of white. However, you can stamp it the other way round to change the colours if you prefer.

Next, using the chunky striped candy cane, stamp in embossing ink over the red cand canes, aligning the outlines up. Cover the candy canes with Opaque Bright White Embossing powder from WOW! and heat set. This will give a very vibrant white stripe to your candy canes. After, fussy cut ou the candy canes and put to one side.

Assembling the card
For the background, stamp using your MISTI the Altenew PinStripe background stamp onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock in clear embossing ink. Cover this with White Pearl Embossing Powder and heat set for an elegant tone on tone background. I thought the stripes from the background paired well with chunky stripes from the candy canes.

Trim the card panel down and foam mount onto a card base made out of Lawn Fawn Fog Cardstock. Heat emboss the sentiment from the Sweet Seasons Stamp set onto black cardstock in white powder and trim down to have a banner end on one side.

Next, add the candy canes and the sentiment to the cards with foam squares for dimension. Lastly, add a selection of red and gold sequins using Gina K Connect glue to add a little sparkle.
Sweet Holiday Season!
