The Card Kit of The Month from Spellbinders pushes me to use pattern paper more and with these cards, I wanted to add an organic texture to the cards with one simple trick – adding a tear! I’ve got 3 easy card designs with this beautiful kit called Kola Smiles, so this has a lot of Australian inspired items – stamps, dies and die-cuts. Of course, there are lots of Kolas in there, including a Kola die and some Kola die-cuts.
This post was produced as part of design team work with the Spellbinders Club Influencer group where I'm given supplies to use. The information provided is based on my own personal experience - I am not an expert.

So the Kola Smiles Card Kit Of The Month shows how easy it is to create a card without any kolas on it- this card kit is very versatile. Trim a piece of pattern paper from the Kola Smiles Card Kit of the Month down to a card size and then tear this in half to create a seam.

Adhere the pattern paper down onto one of the card bases that come in the kit. To help ground a vase die-cut from the kit, I used another die-cut from the die-cut shapes foam mounting one of the wooden frames to the card offset to one side. The vases was added inside the frame.
To embellish the frame, I used a couple of chipboard embellishments from the kit. A sentiment was added using one of the die-cut shapes and lastly, the card was finished with a few clear drops.

Modern whimsy
This card takes minutes to make! Trim down two pieces of pattern paper from the Kola Smiles Card Kit Of The Month. Next, tear one in half and add both to a white card base.

Add a die-cut shape from the kit – I love the elegance of the bicycle in a simple gold line drawing. For the sentiment, use a sentiment from the gold puffy stickers from the card kit and add this to the front. I finished this sentiment by using a chipboard sentiment as well.
The gold puffy stickers also have some gold hearts which I have used to embellish and finish the card off.

Cute Kola!
This card uses a sweet little Kola die-cut shape from the Kola Smiles Card Kit Of The Month. Again, this card was started by trimming a piece of pattern paper from the kit down and then tearing this horizontally. I decided to foam mount this to add a little more interest.

I used a selection of the foliage die-cut shapes that coordinated well with the pattern paper I choose to pop out from behind the torn paper on the card base.
I added a cute little kola bear to the front and then finished the card off with another sentiment from the chipboard stickers included in the card kit.
