Hey, good to see you again! For the post today I am using the faux leatherette paper sheets from Silhouette. When my first Design Team parcel for Silhouette UK arrived and I went through all the items I had been sent, I can assure you I stopped and looked at the leatherette for quite some time! It’s a gorgeous media and the colour of the gold is beautiful. For me, it is almost a rose gold. As soon as I saw the sheets I knew I would need to make some tassels out of them, perfect to hang on your bag, purse or keys. After assembling these, they will make a perfect faux leather bag tassel accessory. They’re quick and easy, so you’ll be making tassels galore!
*For full details on how to make these, see the link at the end of the post to take you to Silhouette UK blog.

Dra a rectangle in your design space and add vertical lines evenly spaced apart. Make sure you leave around 0.5-1 cm gap at the top to keep the tassels together. Cut this out using the ‘Leatherette’ settings, but do a test cut first to make sure it cuts cleanly.
To add the foil to my leather, I used decoFoil Transfer gel. I painted on the gel where I wanted to foil, left this dry and then ran it through my Minc machine. You can also us a laminator if you don’t have a Minc Machine. I used Rose gold and Gunmetal Foils. Make sure you do this before you assemble.
For the strap, cut a thin strip from the same material and loop this through the glip. Glue the end of the strap onto the back side of the tassel shape and roll the tassel around the strap. At the end of the roll, fasten securely with glue.
Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
