Scoops of fun with Summer Scoops!

Did you catch WOW! Embossing powder over on Hochanda yesterday? As part of the show, they were showcasing two new trios and I got my hands on them to play. The first trio I’m showing you today is Summer Scoops which is a fun bright trio with quirky ice cream names. It may be raining (well whilst I’m writing this), but that doesn’t mean we can’t use fun bright summer colours still!  used the trio for two different cards, one with stamping and one with die-cutting so let’s get started!

Scoops of fun with Summer scoops!

Stamping with summer scoops

For this first card, stamp the WOW! Embossing Powder Tropical stamp onto white card in WOW! Clear ultra slow drying embossing ink. Next, cover the bottom third of the panel with Lemon Sorbet embossing powder and tap off any excess, returning this back to your container.

Now cover the middle of the design with orange aid, removing the excess back into your container. Lastly, cover with Razzleberry over the remaining third of the card and tap off the excess. Once the design is covered, heat set from beneath with your dual speed heat fun. This will prevent the fine glitter blowing off.

Foam mount the embossed panel onto a card base. Add a layered hello die cut, using the Catherine Pooler Hello word die. To finish the sentiment off, stamp a sentiment from the One-Liner Sentiments from Catherine Pooler Designs. A few sequins from Lucy’s cards were added to embellish the card.

Die-cutting with summer scoops

For this second, we will use the embossing powder with die-cutting. Apply embossing ink to three white card panels and cover each panel with one of the embossing powders from the trio. Heat set in between each layer, and add 3-4 layers of the powders to intensify the colours.

Once your embossed panels are set, use the Altenew Floral Fantasy die-set to die cut three flowers from. For added dimension, layer the floral layers using foam pads. For the leaves, die-cut these out of two shades of green card.

To add definition to the leaves, use a small ink blending brush to add Eucalyptus and Spruce Catherine Pooler ink to the bottoms of the leaves.

Add the florals and leaves to a white card panel, use a small amount of foam for added dimension. For the sentiment, heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew Sentiment Strips samp set and foam mount onto the front of the card. Lastly, embellish the card with a few coordinating sequins to finish the card off.
