Rock n’ Roll Jukebox

Making 3D cards and paper-crafts is so simple when using Silhouette Chipboard. It is lightweight enough that cuts effortlessly on your Cameo or Portrait but sturdy enough for any 3D paper-craft from the store. So why not use it to create a fun Rock n’ roll jukebox, perfect for giving as a card or turn into a gift card holder.

Creating the design

First, download the design: Jukebox musical rectangle box into your design space. Next, ungroup the design and separate the elements based on the colour grouping.

Altering the design

Separate the two larger design elements from the remainder and cut these out of chipboard.

You may prefer if you have the Designer edition, to use the nesting tool to rotate and align the shapes up on the design mat to reduce waste.

Cutting the design

Take the remaining elements from the design and cut these out of coloured cardstock. You can cut out multiple items at the same time depending on the colour of the card you wish to cut them from.

Assembling the 3D papercraft

To add a little more interest to the coloured card, you a selection of inks to blend on colour to the edge of the card. This will give added definition and interest to the design.

To assemble the card, fold the chipboard pieces at the perforated edges and adhere the coloured card design elements on the top. Apply double-sided tape to the flaps to going the base together and create a 3D box. For instructions on how to assemble, visit http://www.carinagardner.com/2015/06/07/rectangle-card-boxes-tutorial-for-silhouette/ where the designer has provided instructions.
