If you don’t know, WOW! Embossing Powder has a monthly challenge over on their Facebook Group and each month there is a new theme. This month’s theme is Pastel’s and all the design team have lots of inspiration over in the group. So make sure you head over there an check them. Also, don’t forget to enter too! So for my design team inspiration make for the pastel WOW! embossing powder challenge I have two create two cards using the same equipment but appearing as opposites to one another.
My pastel embossing powder I’m using is the Primary Bluetiful powder – it is a gorgeous soft pastel blue when on white card stock, but appears more of a darker teal when on darker cardstock giving a strong tone on tone look.

Start off by die cutting the wreath outline die from the Best Blooms wreath stamp and die set. As this isn’t an open die, it is easy to die cut the shape first and then align your stamp up over the die cut. Die cut this several times from WOW! Smooth cardstock and Gina K Designs sea glass a cardstock.

Using your clear ultra slow drying embossing pad from WOW!, stamp the wreath design onto the wreath die cut. Cover this with Primary Bluetiful embossing powder and heat set with your dual speed heat gun from WOW!

adding interest to your background
Before adding your stamped die cuts to your card base, use All That Jazz Catherine Pooler ink and ink blending brushes to blend ink onto card panel in both white and sea glass cardstock. You may find it easy to position the wreath onto the card to work out where the colour will set. Softly blend the ink out so it creates a halo from the wreath. In addition, smoosh the ink pad down onto a non-porous surface like a glass mat. Add water to this and then using a brush add ink splatter to the background.

Assembling the card
Once your background is dry, add the panels onto 5.75″ square card bases foam mounting them for dimension. Using foam pads, add your die cuts to the card with varying dimension.

For the sentiments, die cut these several times out of white card stock and layer up using Gina K connect glue. Add these to the front card along with secondary stamped sentiments (Leaf Canopy and Birthday Builder stamp set – Altenew).
Lastly added a few colour corresponding sequins (Lucy’s cards – Let’s be mermaids) to finish the card.
