Partial die-cut winter scene – CP Nordic Woods release

As soon as I saw the Alpine Stamp & Die set in the new Nordic Woods Catherine Pooler Designs release, I had to make a scene with it. However, I thought why not combine it with some partial die-cutting for fun top folding cards. These partial die-cut winter scene cards as clean and simple, making it quick to mass produce for stunning cards this season.

Partial die-cut winter scene

Partial die-cut winter scene: card 1

To start off, trim a piece of white card to 6″ x 4.25″. Mark 3″ and 5.5″ up from the bottom as guidelines.  Next, position the dies for the church and trees so it straddles the 3″ guidline.

Place your cardstock onto your die-cutting plates and position the top cutting plate so that it only covers the dies above the 3″ guideline. Run this through your die-cutting machine and you will only partial die-cut the dies above that guideline.

Before we score the card, position the stamps over the corresponding die-cut and stamp in Catherine Pooler inks. The buildings were stamped in Sand Castle and Icing on the Cake. The roofs were stamped in the darker in, wiping any ink on other areas of the buildings away with a wet wipe.

In addition, stamp & die-cut a few additional trees in Deck the Halls and Lime Rickey CP inks.

Using your scoreboard, score along the 3″ guideline in between your die-cut areas.  Finish the card off by stamping the sentiment in Cranberry Fizz Catherine Pooler Ink and embellish with sequins from Oak City Sequin Mix.

Partial die-cut winter scene: card 2

For this second card, cut a piece of white card to ” x 4.25″. Mark 3.5″ and 5.5″ up from the bottom to act as guidelines. Position a house die and a couple of tree dies over the 3.5″ guideline. Next, run this through your die-cutting machine as above to partially die-cut this scene.

Once die-cut, stamp the house and trees over the die-cut areas. After, position the card onto your scoreboard and score along the 3.5″ guideline line. Remember not to score where you have stamped, just between the die-cut areas.

In addition, remember to rub out your guidelines before you finish the card. This card was finished off with another sentiment from the Alpine stamp set in Cranberry fizz. After additional trees were added to the front, the card was embellished with more sequins from the Oak City Sequin mix.
