Hi, and welcome to today’s post! You can probably tell from the title, but today’s post is showcasing another project I made for Docrafts as a Project Design Team Member – they have recently posted this project up on their blog. To make this card, I used their Moustache Die from their ‘Dad min sentiment’ set to create a moustache partial die cut background.
To add a little more masculinity to the card, I used a copper embossing powder to highlight the sentiment on the front.

Partial Die cut Moustaches
To partially die cut, you need to ensure the edges of your cutting plates end at the point where you no longer need to cut from the die, as seen below. When any part of your die lies outside of the cutting plates, this part of the die will not cut. To finish these partially die cut moustaches off I used a craft knife to trim the card.

Once I had made the custom partial die cut background I used small foam squares to add dimension. This was mounted on black card to add contrast to the white background giving the card an edgy look.

I used the Dad Die from the same die set, and cut two out of cardstock. I embossed one Dad die cut to match the sentiment and offset this from the second die cut. Offsetting the die cut gives a faux shadow look – gives the illusion of dimension without adding further bulk.
