Hey, so glad you came back! Today it is a very short post as this is such a quick and easy project to spruce up any journal or notebook you have lying around.
You may have noticed if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram (links to the side if you don’t and you want to tag along!) I have posted about my bullet journal. Now, I am probably a bit late to the show with bullet journaling as it has been around for quite awhile, but I only recently stumbled upon it. I was looking for a way to become more organised in my day to day life along with the blog and that is how I stumbled onto the bullet journal. Now, I wont be going in to the details of bullet journalling today in today’s post – I do plan to do a post soon on what I know and have learnt so far.
However, I have instead focused this post on the decoration I have added to my journal. And as I said, you can use this on any journal or notebook you have laying around! Also you can pick up this free Silhouette Studio Cut file at the end of the post!!

Journal Vinyl Decal Project Details:
For this decal, I searched for creative sayings on Pintrest for inspiration. I wanted the saying or quote to be related to what is inside the journal. I use this journal as a diary, a planner and a tracker of all things creative and personal.
When I stumbled across this saying by Abraham Lincoln I thought it was perfect for the front of my cover.

I designed the decal in the Silhouette Studio software, and I felt there were a few words I wanted to highlight. I paired a brush font with a clean and simple sans-serif font. Illusias from Creative market features as the brush font. Champagne & Limousines from dafont.com features as the sans-serif font To highlight the feature words more so, I increased the size of the words to stand out more.
I cut this decal out on the following cut settings on the Cameo machine:
Blade: 1, Speed: 4, Thickness:15

Once I had weeded the design, I used the transfer tape to apply the decal to the front of the journal. Before taking the transfer tape off, I used the scraper to burnish the design on to ensure it was applied well.
I love the contrast and pairing of this soft mint colour with the rich dark navy of the journal cover. However, this decal could work in so many different colour combinations.
