I’ve really been getting into hot foiling and using my glimmer machine. One technique I love to do with foiling is ink blending! Ink blending over foiling is a quick and easy technique to step your card up a notch and elevate the design. I’m using a regular die to create a custom foiled background for a simple die-cut sentiment to sit on. So let’s get started.

Adding the foil details:
Start off by placing both of the Frame Builder: Botanical Diamond Frame dies onto your Glimmer Hot Foil machine. I use the hinge method by Yana Smakula to work out the position of these dies on a piece of Bermuda card panel and keep the Silver Glimmer foil in place.

After you’ve heated up the platform, run this through your die-cutting machine to foil. Repeat this process, moving the dies to the other two free sides.

Ink blending over foiling:
After foiling use a blending brush to ink blend Uptown ink around the edge of the card panel, fading this out towards the middle. In addition, repeat this with Black Jack ink just to the edges to intensify the colours.

Add the card panel to a white base. Add a sentiment using the Sentiment Suite: Hello die, cutting the shadow out of vellum and layering a white hello with 3 die-cuts to add dimension. Lastly, embellish with sequins to finish this off.
