Do you know every month, WOW! Embossing Powders holds a monthly challenge over on their Facebook Fan group? Each month we have a different theme and the whole design team shows lots of inspiration of different ways to create with WOW! products for the theme. This months theme is Glintz/Glitter embossing powder. So today’s card uses a very new embossing powder – Bahama which is an embossing glitter in the new Caribbean Charm Trio. It is a beautiful blue teal powder with glitter flecks in it. If you use it on more larger surfaces it will also marble as it has chunky white powder in it too!

Creating with glitter embossing powder
To start off, using a MISTI stamping tool stamp the wreath from Julie Hickey designs Daisy Garland stamp set, stamp in Clear Ultra slowing embosisng ink from WOW! onto white card. Next, cover this with the Bahama embossing glitter from the Caribbean Charm Trio pack from WOW!

The best way to heat set embossing glitter is to heat from underneath, so make sure you heat gun is warm-up prior to moving the heat gun to the card beneath the embossing powder. This allows the powder to melt and trap the glitter within it and the glitter does not fly off. Once heat-set, use a pair of scissors to fussy cut the wreath out.

creating the background
For the background panel, place a piece of Hero Arts Mustard cardstock in your MISTI and using a selection of stamps from Julie Hickey’s Disty Delights and Daisy Garland stamp set with clear embossing ink. You may wish to repeat the stamping to darken up the colour. Try to leave the centre of the card, where the garland will sit, blank to ensure the background isn’t too busy to detract from the heat embossing.

On a piece of vellum, heat emboss the ‘Happy’ sentiment from the Julie Hickey Designs Spring Delights stamp in Primary Ebony embossing powder. When heat setting this, make sure you move the gun around to prevent scorching the vellum.
Next, adhere the garland onto the background panel with foam pads for dimension. To adhere the vellum sentiment down, wrap the vellum strip around the back of the card panel and use tape to adhere to the back.

Assembling the card
To assemble the card, adhere the background panel down to a white card base. Next, heat emboss ‘birthday’ from the Spring Delights stamp set onto black card with Opaque Bright White embossing powder and trim down. Using foam pads, adhere this to the front of the card, offset to one side from the vellum sentiment. Lastly, adhere a few sequins with Gina K connect glue to finish the card off.
