Creating a tone-on-tone background creates lots of interest to the card but without overloading the visual appearance of a card and becoming two busy. Well, this card using tone-on-tone embossing glitter to add a second tone-one-tone aspect to add a touch of sparkle. Of course, the first tone-on-tone is simply die-cutting out of the same cardstock as the background. Adding the second tone-on-tone embossing glitter just steps this up a notch to add a touch of WOW!

tone-on-tone embossing glitter: creating the background
Start off by die-cutting the Quilted cover plate die from Catherine Pooler out of a white card panel. Make sure you keep all the pieces as we need these for the card. Adhere this die-cut down onto a white card base.

With the negative pieces of the die, cover these with embossing ink, then with Halo Embossing glitter and heat set. You may find it easier to adhere these temporarily on a piece of cardstock whilst doing this as they are fiddly.

tone-on-tone embossing glitter: assembling the card
To assemble the card, add foam pads to the back of the tone-on-tone embossing glitter triangles and position back in place on the die-cut. For the sentiment, die-cut the Bestie word die out of Burnished Rose cardstock and layer up with additional white die-cuts.

To ensure the sentiment stays put, adhere this with liquid glue. In addition, stamp a sentiment from the Ladies Who Lunch stamp set and finish the card off with a few White Orchid Sequins from Lucy’s cards.
