Faux Dip-dye embossed die-cut sentiment

Creating a faux dip-dyed sentiment is so easy when you combine it with heat embossing. I used the fabulous Party word die from Catherine Pooler as the main focal part of this card, and decided it needed a faux dip-dye look to set it off! I also used two fabulous new Catherine Pooler Designs which lean to a more feminine look, but you could easily switch it up for a more masculine design! So let’s get started!

Creating the background

Add Sparkling Berry Ink to half of the Scribble background stamp, soften the top edge with a scrap cloth to blend the edge of the ink out. Next, stamp this onto a white card panel.

Apply Serene Ink to the other half to the Scribble background stamp, ensuring the colour will overlap with the previous and soften the ink again as before. Stamp once more and then trim this panel down, adding it to a white card base.

Creating the Faux Dip-dye embossed die-cut sentiment

For the sentiment, die-cut and layer the Party word die three times out of black card. Temporarily adhere the letters to a scrap of cardstock and apply embossing ink to the lower half of the letters. Cover with Grey Sky At Night embossing powder and heat set.

You may wish to repeat the heat embossing a couple of times for a smooth look to the embossing. Adhere these letters to the front of the card and add another heat embossed sentiment from the Time To Party stamp above the die-cut. Lastly, finish with a few black Nuvo Drops
