Of course, Altenew is known for their beautiful floral stamps and they are perfect for elegant stamping CAS cards. The effortless designs can easily take centre place and you don’t have to do much for the card to shine. The floral from the Handpicked Bouquet is a beautiful floral stamp that can take centre stage on a card with a simple sentiment and background to help it shine.

Creating the elegant stamping
Start off by stamping the outline of the Handpicked Bouquet floral onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock using your MISTI stamping platform in dark grey ink. Next, align the first layer of the main floral using the layering guide to help.

Stamp this layer in soft peach ink colour – if like me you’re oranges are on the darker side, use second generation stamping for a light colour. To do this, ink your stamp up in Bellini ink by Catherine Pooler Designs and stamp this onto a scrap piece of paper. Then without reinking, the stamp, stamp once more onto your card and you will have the second generation of ink in your design.

Adding depth and definition
Next, stamp the second and third to layers in Tutti Frutti and Polished inks by Catherine Pooler Design to add the depth and shading to the floral. In addition, stamp the addition floral elements of the design in the same colours of ink for consistency.
The leaves can easily be stamped using two shades of green (Garden Party and Eucalyptus Catherine Pooler Designs Ink) and align these according to the layering guide in the stamp packet. You can either use the coordinating die to die-cut the floral out and use a pair of scissors to fussy cut this out.

For the background, blend a Twilight ink over the Altenew Broken Chevron stencil onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock and when happy with the vibrancy of the background foam mount this onto a card base made out of 110lb matching cardstock. Next, use foam pads to adhere the floral stamped image to the centre of the card.
Adding the bold sentiment

For the sentiment, die-cut the Altenew Fancy Hello dies from black card 3 times and layer this up using Gina K Connect Glue. Position this over the floral and adhere to this dow.
Next, for the secondary sentiment, stamp in black in ‘Dearest Friend’ from the set onto a strip of white card. This sentiment has the word ‘Hello’ above it, so make sure you mask this off before stamping. For continuity, adhere the sentiment onto the card with foam pads for dimension.

Lastly, finish the card off using a selection of Tonic Nuvo Jewel drops in Rosewater and Strawberry Coulis.
