create elegant cards with a few easy tips: harmonious colours
Start off by stamping the flowers from the Altenew Life is Awesome layering stamp set. For this card, I used the Lapis Lazuli Mini Ink Cube set as well as the Shades of Purple Mini Ink Cube set. I choose these two colours as they are analogous colours – they sit beside each other on the colour wheel and are harmonious with one another when used. This is not the same as complementary colours which are opposite each other on the wheel.

Next, when you have stamped the flowers out, also stamp a few leaves using a few soft shades of green. This will help greater a fresh feel to the card. However, you can also use darker shades if you prefer. After the stamp is complete, use the coordinating dies to cut the stamped images out. In addition, stamp and die-cut one of the vases from the Altenew Versatile Vases stamp set.

create elegant cards with a few easy tips: 'white space'
Another tip to create an elegant card is to have white space -this doesn’t have to be white card as it can be any colour you want. What it refers to, is to have a large amount of colour on the card that is not stamped on/die-cut up/inked etc. So for this card, the white space does happen to be the card base.

To help anchor the vase on the card, die-cut the Altenew Burlap Textured die ou of kraft cardstock and glue this onto the front of the card. The texture of this die still allows your ‘white space’ to peek through. For an elegant card, keep the sentiment simple. The Altenew Fancy Thanks die out of black card, adds some contrast to the card but remains simple enough to not overtake the card. Lastly, finish off with a few sequins scattered around the card.
