When it comes to snowflakes and Christmas cards, my favourite way to use them is with an easy emboss resist technique. The Scrolling Snowflakes stamp set from the upcoming new Winter Wonders release from Catherine Pooler Designs was therefore going to be used with emboss resist for a stunning Christmas card. But don’t worry, if you’re rather a quicker style of card, keep reading as I have a bonus card on today’s post with some simple stamping.

easy emboss resist Christmas Snowflakes
Start off by stamping a variety of snowflakes from the Scrolling Snowflakes stamp set onto a white card panel. Do not stamp all of the snowflakes yet as we will heat emboss in two embossing powders. Once you have stamped the first layer of snowflakes, cover this in Powdered Snow embossing glitter from WOW! EMbossing powder and heat set.

Repeat stamping the snowflakes in embossing ink and cover this time with Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder. To add interest, start to ink blend Tranquil ink from the top right-hand corner down to the bottom fading this out.
Next, go in with Cove Blue ink and fade this out, but do not go down as far on the panel. Lastly, add a little Black Jack ink towards the top to intensify. Trim this down and add to white cardbase.

To finish this card off, heat emboss a sentiment from the Cheerful Greetings stamp set, trimming it into strips and adding the front. Lastly, embellish the snowflakes with white pearls.
Bonus cards: Simple stamping with Scrolling Snowflakes
This card creates a similar effect but just with simple stamping. Start off by stamping snowflakes from the Scrolling Snowflakes stamp set with the lightest colour Tranquil ink and stamp selection of snowflakes from the Scrolling Snowflakes from the top left corner down towards the bottom right.

Repeat the process but this time with Twilight ink and Cove Blue ink . Allow the snowflakes to overlap creating depth and dimension.
For the sentiment, stamp the large greetings sentiment in Black Jack ink and heat emboss two small sentiments from the Cheerful Greetings stamp set. Lastly, embellish the snowflakes with white pearls again to finish the card.
