If you struggle with colours in your card making projects, then you may find it easier to pick colours from the colour wheel. Creating with analogous colours allows you to choose four colours that are along side one another on the colour wheel for a cohesive design. Today, I’ve gone for warm analogous colours and combined it with the new Catherine Pooler Designs Bold Bits & Patterns stamp set.

Repeat stamping with analogous colours
The four colours I have choose are Tiara, Tutti Frutti, Do-si-do and Rockin’ Red. I’ve gone for two soft colours and two darkers to create contrast.

For this card, repeatedly stamp the one of the long abstract lines from the Bold Bits & Patterns stamp set horizontally down the card. Next, heat emboss in bold a sentiment from the Stacked Inspiration Sentiments in the middle of the card.
Trim the panel down and add this to a white card base. To help focus the eye on the sentiment, create a white frame using the Scallop & Dots die set and foam mount this onto the card. Lastly, embellish with gold sequins to finish the card.

Abstract shapes with analogous colours
This second card really takes on an abstract look and was fun to make.

Use the large stamp shapes in the Bold Bits & Patterns stamp set to create an abstract background in the analogous colours. My tips is try not to be to neat, allow the stamps to overlap and choose two colours to be the main colours and the other two as accent colours.
You can also heat emboss some of the stamps for added interest. Another sentiment from the Stacked Inspiration Sentiments was heat onto a white die-cut circle which was foam mounted onto the card front. Again, the card was embellished with gold matt sequins.

Creating asymmetry with symetry
With this card I used the stamps to great some symmetry in the background, but added variation by switching the colours up.

Stamp a selection of the smaller shape stamps from the Bold Bits & Patterns stamp set onto a card panel. When you stamp a shape once, rotate the panel and stamp it again but in a different colour. This will create a fun symmetrical background but with variation in the colours.
Add the card panel to a card base and add another heat embossed sentiment from the Stacked Inspiration Sentiments. This was stamped onto a piece of card cut with a die from the Scallop & Dots die set. Again, this was also finished with gold matt sequins the embellish the card.
