If you haven’t entered this month WOW! Facebook fan group monthly challenge, then you still have a few days to add your project to the group. This months theme is repeating patterns. For my DT inspiration card, I decided I wanted to create a repeating bioglitter background using the WOW! Earth Sparkles. If you haven’t tried these, they are biodegradable glitter. So you love the earth and glitter, then these are for you! I used two soft colours of glitters to create a bold repeating striped background for a sentiment to pop off. So let’s get started!

creating a bioglitter background
To start, adhere strips of 1/4″ and 1/8″ double-sided tape onto a white card panel. Remove the backing paper for a selection of strips to reveal the adhesive.

Next, cover the exposed adhesive with Shrimp WOW! Earth Sparkles ensuring you get good coverage. Knock off any excess glitter and then cover with a piece of scrap paper. Next, using a bone folder, burnish the glitter into the tape.

adding the second colour of bioglitter
Once one colour of glitter is added, removing the remaining backing on the adhesive strips and cover with Stingray WOW! Earth Sparkles glitter. Repeat burnishing the glitter into the tape to ensure the glitter does not shed.

After the panel is complete, trim down the panel to 1/4″ small than a US A2 card base. Foam mount the panel onto a card base made out of Gina K Ocean Mist cardstock, which pairs well with the Stingray glitter.

Finishing the card off
For the sentiment die-cut the Altenew Mega Love die out of Tonic Studios Burnished Rose Mirror Cardstock as well as out of black card. Adhere these two together, offset slightly to one side to create a shadow. Add foam pads to the back of the sentiment and mount onto the card panel.

Heat emboss in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing ‘You make me so happy’ from the Altenew Sentiment Strips stamp set onto black card. Trim this down into a strip and foam mount onto the card. Lastly, finish off with a few White Gloss Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios.
