Creating 3 different cards with one background stamp

Hey, good to see you have come over to the blog. I wanted to challenge myself and use my background stamps more, and to use them with cards that are bigger than 6″! Well, I ended up making 3 different cards with one background stamp, thought I have to admit the square cad does measure at 6″ x 6″! This background stamp is from Altenew – Pinstripe and I love it. It gives such thin lines which can add interest without being over the top.

3 different cards with one background stamp Card details:

Card 1 - Happy birthday

The background stamp was stamped with versamark onto a piece of Kraft card. This was heat set with copper embossing powder and a stitched square was die cut from the panel. Before added the embossed square to a 5″ X 7″ card, soft grey ink was blended through a Brutus Monroe stencil. In additional black paint splatter as added for more texture.

The square was foam mounted onto the card, offset to one side and the excess was trimmed off. A layered ‘happy’ die cut was add along with a heat embossed secondary sentiment.

Card 2 - Celebrate

The stamp was once more heat embossed onto a smooth piece of white cardstock in Pink Champagne embossing powder. Before foam mounting onto a square kraft card, distress oxides (Tattered rose, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves) was blended over the top with a blending tool. The embossing resists the ink and an ombre background is created. A dry cloth/or paper towel can be used to buff over the embossing to remove any excess ink.

To assembled this card, the Altenew Fine rectangle frame die was cut from white card and foram mounted onto the card. The word celebrate was die cut several times and layered up. To add more interest, the word was embossed in matching embossing powder several times for a smooth finish. A secondary sentiment was heat embossed in white on a black strip.

Card 3 - Hello

For this last card, the background was stamped in Blue Print Sketch Distress oxide onto white card. To create the criss-cross pattern, the card was rotated once and then stamped again.

This was foam mounted onto a white 8.25″ x 4.25″ inch card with a layered ‘hello’ die cut added to the front. This was covered in glossy accents for shine and interest. A strip of black card was added to the bottom of the panel for definition, and a  secondary sentiment was stamped in Onyx black ink. To finish, a few Toni Nuvo Drops were added in colour corresponding shades.
