Create two looks with one design

When I saw the Best Things In Life stamp & die set from the new For You Crew! Catherine Pooler Designs release, I thought I have to colour these gorgeous florals in! Initially, I coloured them in Pink, but I wanted to also make some purple flowers too. So, why not create two looks with one design by switching up the colourways! These were fun cards to create and using the coordinating dies, I could use the stamps to make a fun 3d background. So let’s get started!

Two looks with one design: first colourway

Start off by stamping the florals onto white cardstock in Midnight ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. As I planned to use my Copic markers, I needed to use a Copic marker friendly ink which Midnight ink is. If you choose a different colouring medium, just switch the ink up accordingly.

Next, use your colouring medium to colour the florals in. The Copic colours I used for the pink florals were:

  • RV09
  • RV17
  • RV19

I added darker tones towards the base of the petals and faded the colour out to the lighter colour.

Two looks with one design: second colourway

In addition, colour the other set of flowers in purple tones. The colours of Copic markers I used here are:

  • V12
  • V15
  • V04

For the green foliage, I used the following Copic Markers:

  • YG11
  • G14
  • G07

After all the images are coloured, use the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

Two looks with one design: assembling the cards

To assemble the cards, add foam pads to the back of all the die-cuts. For the pink flowers, add these onto a dark blue card panel. The pinks really pop of the navy coloured cardstock! Allow the stamped images to overhang and cut off the excess. Repeat this process for the purple flowers, adding them to a white card panel.

For the sentiments, heat emboss in white onto black card or stamp in Black Jack ink onto white card two sentiments from the Ladies Who Lunch stamp set. Add additional foam pads to these and then add these to the card fronts about a third of the way down from the top.
