Crackled Glass Heat embossing | Masculine inspired cards

If you didn’t know, WOW! has a technique library with many different simple tutorials showing you the basics behind different heat embossing techniques. Well, I had a look at the technique library and found the odd technique or two that was new to me, and today I’m featuring one of those techniques in the video today. This crackled glass heat embossing technique creates beautiful texture to your cards and heat embossing without adding any bulk.  I’ve used this method to create two very easy masculine cards but they can be tailored to any occasion by simply switching up the colours. So let’s get started!

Crackled glass heat embossing with clear gloss

Start off by covering a white card panel with embossing ink and clear gloss embossing powder. If you have clear gloss ultra-high this works best, but you can use regular as well as I have done.  Heat set this and repeat at least 3-4 more times.

To add a little more interest, sprinkle some Ultra High Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder and heat set from above to add a speckling to the panel. To create the crackle, make sure your heat embossed panel is cool and solid before bending the cards in multiple directions.

This will crack the heat embossing and start to create veins in the embossing. From this card panel, die-cut different circles using nesting circles dies. The sentiment on this card comes from the Natural Flourishes stamp set

For the other panel/card, I repeated this process of heat embossing a white card panel but this time used Ullar’s Cognac. Now, this is not translucent, so the crackling will be less noticeable. Again this will need several layers of heat embossing to build up the thickness in order to make cracks.

Again, die-cut circles from this panel and interchange the circles with the previous panel to create interest. For the sentiment, I used a sentiment that was foiled in WOW! Gold Fab foil from the Sweet Sentiments Fab Foilers

The sentiment was added to the front and then ebony black Nuvo drops were added to embellish the card.
