Colour blocking with heat embossing is such a fun technique allowing you to create modern and trendy backgrounds quickly. Either add a stamped image over the top or simply add a sentiment over the top and you’re good to go. When using colour blocking, I like to stick to three colours that are cohesive but have some contrast to add interest.

Creating heat embossed panels
Start off by adding embossing ink to a white card panel with the direct to paper method. Next, cover this with Icicle Teal Embossing glitter from the Winter Dreams Trio and heat set.

Repeat this by heat embossing two more card panels with Rosy Cheeks from the Winter Dreams Trio and Blue Diamond from the Cocktail Party trio. With all three embossed panels, die-cut these with the Angled Stripes die from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Assembling the card
Add the stripes from the die-cut panels to a white card panel, slightly off-setting to add white lines for contrast. Vary the colours for interest and trim this panel down before adding to a cardbase.
