I don’t know about you, but when I can find a way of creating two cards at the same time then its a win-win for me. Today’s video is just that and what’s more its part of a blog hop between WOW! Embossing powder and Newton’s Nook.
All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add WOW! Embossing Powder and Newton’s Nook Designs stamps and dies to their creations. There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of the post to find out how you can win.

PRODUCED AS PART OF MY DESIGN-TEAM WORK FOR WOW!EMBOSSING POWDER - SEE END OF POST FOR MORE DETAILS
Stamping and colouring the florals
For these two cards, I’m using the Peony Blooms Stamp and the Serene Stripes stencil from Newton’s Nook. Place a piece hot press watercolour cardstock into your MISTI and position all the blooms and leaves on the panel.
The embossing powder we will be using is the Violet Pearl powder from WOW! First of all stamp in black pigment ink. Once stamped, remove the card from the MISTI and cover the image with the Violet Pearl embossing powder. Now, if you don’t have black pigment ink, you can use black dye ink and then stamp over the black dye with your clear ultra slow drying embossing ink to add your powder.

Make sure you have heated up your dual speed heat gun before you bring it to the paper to melt your powder. This is when the magic happens and the white powder for the violet pearl goes from white and melt to violet over the dark colour lines.
Repeat stamping and heat embossing the blooms and leaves several times, as you’ll need quite a few for this technique. For the colouring use the Altenew Watercolour 36 pan set and to allow the Violet pearl to shine through, use Jet Black and Moon Rock colours to shade the blooms and leaves in.

Creating the die-cut panels
After the images are dry fussy cut out the designs or use the coordinating dies if you have them. Next, arrange these over a card panel to get the proportion of the makeshift die-cut panel right. For the next part, you need to tape the back of the die cuts together using washi tape.

Then run this through yor die cut machine with a rectangle die. To keep all the die pieces together, use liquid glue to add small dabs of glue to the backs of the die cuts where they overlap. Not only do this for the die-cut rectangle but also for the frame left over as this can create the second card.

Assembling the cards
For the backgrounds, use the Serene Stripes Stencil to dry emboss a piece of Edible Eggplant cardstock from Gina K Designs. You need to use a rubber embossing mat with your die cut sandwich but refer to your die cutting machine for the correct sandwich for the machine.

The second card uses the stencil in the normal way it is intended. Whilst using some blending brushes, apply Royal Treatment ink by Catherine Pooler to create a soft background to sit within the frame die cut.

To assemble the cards, each die-cut panel was foam mounted onto the corresponding backgrounds and the backgrounds adhered to white card bases. A couple of the sentiments from the Peony Blooms stamp set was heat embossed in Opaque Bright white WOW! Embossing powder onto black card and added to each card. To finish the cards, a fun Liquid Mercury Nuvo crystal drops were added.
