Brutus Monroe: ‘Hey Foxy’ Gift Tag

Hi and welcome to the blog. My regular post up Brutus Monroe has moved from Wednesday to Saturday. Wednesdays now feature the new stamp release where all members post a project to show the endless possibilities. So, my regular post has moved to today! Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and hopefully you will have already created you card. However, I’m bringing you another Valentine’s day inspired project to create a tag for your gift. This tag used stamps from February Stamp of the Month – which you can get on subscription.  This month stamp is the Hey Foxy stamp set.

*For supplies featured in this post, please refer to the links at the end of the post.

The XOXO stamp was repeatedly stamp over a white tag in a light grey dye ink. Using a blending tool, I blended Abandoned Coral Distress oxide onto the card fading this out to create an ombre effect. Next, I spritzed clean water over the top, and soaked this up with a paper towel to give a blotchy look to the background. I repeatedly stamped a heart with Raven detailed ink and coloured this in with a red marker. To add some sparkle, I coloured over the top with a Wink of Stella pen and covered with glossy accents for some dimension.

The ‘Hey foxy’ sentiment was stamped in Raven detail ink, and mounted onto the tag with a strip of Lunch bag cardstock. To embellish the card, I added some Black bakers twine, silver sequins and pearl enamel dots. Lastly, I stapled a piece of ribbon on the top to finish the tag off.
