I’m really trying to stretch my supplies when it comes to Christmas cards and making different styles. Today I’m sharing an Art-deco-inspired Christmas card with hot foiling using a beautiful plate from PinkFresh Studio. Pair it with the right colour scheme and sentiment and you have a fun alternative-style Christmas card. Also, if you struggle with ink blending then you need to try it on Speciality Glimmer Cardstock from Spellbinders. It is so smooth which makes ink blending a doddle. So let’s get started!

Start off by hot foiling in Matte Gold Hot Foil the Deco Arch Hot Foil Plate from PinkFresh Studio onto specialty Glimmer Cardstock from Spellbinders. Next, start off ink blending Coral Cabana Catherine Pooler ink onto the card, blending this towards the middle, leaving the very middle white.

Then gradually blend in Rockin’ Red ink, bringing this in but not as far. Lastly, ink blend Cranberry Fizz ink to darken the edges up. If you want to take it one step more, add a little Black Jack to the edge. As this paper is smooth, the inks will blend beautifully, just go back in between colours for the smoothest finish!
To add the sentiment, die-cut the Stylish Merry Christmas die from Spellbinders out of gold mirror cardstock. Make sure you add a double-sided adhesive sheet to the back before die-cutting to make it easier to adhere to another white die-cut layer of the sentiment for dimension.

Add the sentiment to the front of the card over the highlight area of ink blending. Finish the card off by embellishing with gold sequins.
