Well, I don’t know about you, but I have definitely started making my Xmas cards now as it is just around the corner if you’re a card maker. However, I wanted to find an alternative colour for Xmas cards because as a crafter it can often get boring creating cards with the same colours over and over again. This rich dark teal colour is perfect for creating rich and luxurious cards and pair that with the Festive Foliage stamp set from Altenew which lends to easy stamping you can bulk make a few cards in no time.

Creating the layers of the tree
To start, trim down a piece of Gina K Tranquil Teal cardstock down to 5.5″ x 4.25 and place into your MISTI. Next, take layer 1 of the tree from the Altenew Festive Foliage stamp set and place within the centre of your card panel.

Stamp this first layer in Daydream Ink by Catherine Pooler Designs. After, position the second layer of the tree, using the card insert for reference to align and stamp this layer in Juniper Mist Ink by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Next, position the first layer of the heart stamp within the tree and stamp this in WOW! clear ultra slow drying embossing ink. Cover this with Metallic platinum embossing powder from WOW! Once heat-set, reposition your panel back into your MISTI to stamp the second layer in clear embossing ink. Cover this Rose gold embossing powder from WOW! and once more heat-set.
Adding richness to the card

To add more drama and richness to the panel, apply a soft blend of ink to the edges using Juniper Mist ink with blending brushes. For a little more contrast, also blend some dark grey/black ink lightly only onto the very edge.

Mount the panel onto a white card base using Gina K Connect glue. For the sentiment, heat emboss ‘Merry Christmas’ from the Altenew Starry Night stamp set in matching embossing powder. For added dimension, foam mount the sentiment onto the panel over the embossed heart.

Lastly to finish the card off, add a few clear Morning Dew Nuvo Drops.
