We’re two-thirds of the way through November, so if you’ve not entered the WOW! Embossing Powder challenge this month yet, then you’ve still got time! This months theme is Happy Birthday, so I created a quick and easy card with an abstract sparkle background, perfect to add a large Happy Birthday sentiment. If you also caught WOW! Embossing Powder on Hochanda then you’ll have seen a lot of new powders and sparkles! Believe me, they’re beautiful and I’m using two of them on this card. So let’s get started!
PRODUCED AS PART OF MY DESIGN-TEAM WORK FOR WOW! Embossing powder - SEE END OF POST FOR MORE DETAILS
Abstract sparkle background: quick heat embossing
For this background, use the mixed media brush from WOW! to paint embossing ink onto a white panel. Make sure the area is large enough for your sentiment to sit on.

Next, cover this with Gitty’s Power embossing powder from WOW! and sprinkle a little of Copper Fire WOW! Sparkles over the top. Heat the powder from beneath to prevent the sparkles blowing off before the powder has had a chance to melt and trap it.

Abstract sparkle background: adding the sentiment
You can add more layers of powder and sparkles until you’re happy with the look. Next, foam mount this onto a white ard base.

For the sentiment, heat emboss in Metallic Copper WOW! powder the Signature Birthday sentiment from Julie Hickey Designs. Next, use the coordinating die to cut out the sentiment and foam mount this onto the front of the card.

Lastly, add a few white Glossies dots from Julie Hickey Designs to embellish the card.
