This month's 'In the Spotlight' goes to an art and design store: London Graphic Centre. I was recently down in London due to work, and I had a bit of spare time in the evening. Well, I like to explore new arty places, and luckily this store stays open till 6.30 pm so I managed to pop in after my work commitments had finished.
This store is located just of Covent Garden, I would say 1 minute walk away from Convent Garden Tube station, and was easy to find with the use of Google Maps. Address: 16-18 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London. WC2H 9JL.
Now bare in mind, this an art and design shop. There were a few limited card/craft items but only a very few. However, it is a fantastic place for all sorts of other art supplies!
I took only a couple of pictures of inside as you really do need to go there are see this place for yourself. It has two levels; downstairs you will find an endless array of pencils and colouring pens from Copics to Tombows and so much more! Upstairs is where the painters need to head with a huge selection of acrylics, oils and watercolours to chose from.
I also stumbled upon lino printing and screen printing. Screen printing is something I really would love to try in the future, seen as I have a massive supply of vinyl to create some intricate stencils with. However, I need to look in to what supplies I would need and whether I could make do and mend with a make-shift silk screen until I can afford a more sophisticated one.
If you are ever in the vicinity of Covent Garden I suggest you pop in to London Graphic Centre as it is well worth a visit. You can also order from them online, so head over to http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/ and have a look.
