When I visited France before Christmas I invested in a little watercolour paint set as I had seen some Youtube videos where watercolours had been used to create interesting backgrounds and additional features to cards. I used one of the techniques in a Christmas card that I made, following the video by K Werner Design Blog on Ombre watercolour for a Thank you card. See below for the video. It is such an easy and pretty technique to do that can really lift a simple card.

Here is a picture of the card I created using this Ombre watercolor effect to give a winter feel to the background.
In addition to the watercolour effect, I also heat embossed the sentiment and snowflakes.
I hope this has highlighted a new technique for you to try out. As always do not forget to follow the blog, Facebook and Instagram!
