Chunky Monkey Crafts: First stamps – sentiments for your cards

Hello, good to see you again. I hope you have been having a wonderful week. If you follow me on instagram or Facebook you will have seen I recently joined a new design team. This team is for the company ‘Chunky Monkey Crafts’. It is a new company just starting up in the UK and I am excited to help it on its way and see it build into a fantastic stamp company. The first stamps that the owner Danielle designed, are for you to stamp on the back of your cards. To finish your cards off. They have a sense of humour which many crafters will appreciate as it relates to how much time and effort you have put into your card.

The stamp set is called ‘Narky sentiments’ and you can see picture of the set below:

In addition, Danielle will also be selling a variety of other craft-related items that complement and add to your craft stash. One of these items is a white gel pen. I tried this gel pen out on today’s card, and have to say it is a good pen. The white is vibrant and doesn’t soak and fade into the cardstock unlike some cheap pens do. Will definitely be using it in the future!

For links to some of these products, see the end of the post.

Chunky Monkey Crafts First stamps card details

To start off, I drew out the sentiment onto grey cardstock in a light pencil. This allowed  me to work out spacing and proportion. I have recently, purchased a ‘Hand Lettering Handbook’ found here, and use a font from this book for my sentiment. I used the white gel pen from Chunk Monkey Crafts to draw the sentiment and fussy cut this out.

For the flowers, I die-cut out a rose into two red cardstocks and a green cardstock. I adhered the green die cut down to a scrap piece of white card with double-sided adhesive tape and use a die-cut inlay technique to create a full and dimensional rose. I fussy cut around the edge of the rose, to remove any excess white card. This rose adhered to the bottom right corner of textured blue card panel and the excess trimmed with a guillotine. The trimmed off pieces were not wasted as I adhered them around the top of the card.

The sentiment was foam mounted onto the panel along with the whole panel foam mounted onto the card base. I embellished the front with Duck Egg Blue Tonic Nuvo drops.

To finish the card off, I stamp ‘recycle me if you dare’ from the Narky sentiment stamp set on the back of the card underneath my logo sticker.

Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
