Celebration time! – Blog hop

Hey good to see you have popped by the blog again today. We have been enjoying the blog hops in our little Lets get hopping group that we have gone and done another one! Each time our hop is getting bigger and better – which is great for you as it means even more inspiration!! So today’s hop theme is: celebration. It is always good to have a celebration card or two to hand in your stash. You never know when you might need to send one to celebrate an achievement. I wanted to keep my card quite clean and simple so you could easily change the colour scheme depending on the recpient. So read on and find out how to make it.

Materials required for:

  • Celebration sentiment – This is from Avery Elle sentimentals
  • Secondary sentiment – this is from Altenew Layered Cupcale
  • Circle stamps – these came from the same Altenew stmap set
  • Embossing ink
  • Embossing powders – to see the colours see the links section at the end.
  • Acrylic blocks
  • Heat gun
  • White card stock
  • Black card panel

Celebration Card details

The best way to start this card is to decide on your sentiment placement. As my sentiments span the width of my card panel, I placed them a third up from the bottom. It has much more appeal in this position, then directly in the center. I heat embossed this before I started working on my circles.

Often celebration can be associated with having a drink to celebrate, so I wanted the circles to mimic the bubbles in a drink. To achieve the most realistic look, you will want your ‘bubbles’ as though they are travelling vertically up the card – not horizontally.  I altnerated the colours and sizes for added variation. Once all the embossing was heat set I mounted the panel onto the card base, and this card was that simple!

Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
